Warranty

Spotshop stands behind the products we sell. This warranty explains what we cover, for how long, and how to lodge a claim. It applies in addition to — and never limits — your rights under the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA).

What we cover

We warrant each product against genuine defects in materials or workmanship that cause it to perform below the manufacturer's stated specifications. Cover applies to the original purchaser only, runs from the date of purchase, and cannot be transferred to a later owner. A valid proof of purchase (your order number or invoice) is required for every claim.

As many of the brands we carry are imported, warranty support is provided directly by Spotshop together with our international suppliers, rather than through a local brand distributor.

Warranty period

The warranty period that applies to each product is shown on the product page or on your invoice at the time of sale. Where no period is stated, a standard 12-month warranty applies from the date of purchase.

How claims are assessed

Once a returned product has been inspected and the fault confirmed as a genuine warranty issue, Spotshop will — at our discretion — repair or replace it. If an identical replacement isn't available, we may offer an equivalent item or a refund. Turnaround depends on whether the product can be assessed locally or needs to be referred to the supplier.

How to lodge a claim

Always start with us directly: email sales@spotshop.co.za with your order number, a description of the fault, and photos or video if you can. We'll take you through the return or inspection process from there. Please don't return anything before contacting us — unauthorised returns can delay or void a claim.

What we don't cover

This warranty does not apply to faults or damage caused by:

  • normal wear and tear, neglect, or misuse;
  • incorrect fitment, assembly, or installation;
  • modification or alteration of the product;
  • use of the product for a purpose it was not designed or recommended for;
  • use beyond the product's rated limits or stated capacity;
  • accident, abuse, or exposure beyond the product's rated conditions.

Choosing the right product

Selecting the correct product for your intended use is the buyer's responsibility. Items correctly supplied as ordered can't be returned for credit simply because the wrong item was chosen, and damage caused by incorrect assembly or installation isn't covered.

Returns of used or no-fault goods

Products returned outside the warranty period, or returned with no fault found, won't be accepted and will be sent back at the buyer's expense.

Your rights under South African law

Nothing here limits the statutory guarantees you're entitled to under the Consumer Protection Act. You remain entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund where goods aren't of acceptable quality, and to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss resulting from a major failure.
